Moonriver Lodge, Sigar Highlands

FOR OUR CHILDREN'S CHILDREN

A Warm Welcome

Moonriver Lodge is a highlands farmstay, highly suitable for retreats, teambuilding, education camps, family holidays or individuals who would like an escape from the urban world into a space close to nature to rejuvenate, learn and bond.

We are an earthly home, built with passion and pioneering spirit, amidst the highland forests at 800m above sea level. A first-of-its kind, it is a “pioneers capsule” – a gathering place for pioneers in all fields and a live learning space.

Enjoy the cool temperate climate and quiet nature surroundings. Immerse yourself with the day-to-day natural farming activities, learn about Permaculture and the designs in place, visit the farm and forest seedling nurseries and cook your own meals with fresh vegetables and herbs hand-picked from the garden. Get your hands dirty working in our Permaculture Childrens’ Garden (PCG) and enjoy a campsite bonfire at night.

To enjoy the different forestscapes surrounding Moonriver Lodge, enjoy a few treks on the numerous trails. Trails range from the easy Red Earth Trail leading to the Orang Asli village, the magical Ferngully Trail to more challenging trails i.e Bamboo Canopy Trail, River Trail or Top Dam trail.

Trek into the forest to see the Rafflesia Kerrii flower, visit the indigenous people, the Temiars and watch a Blowpipe demonstration, where they originally used the poisonous sap to coat the tips of the darts from the Ipoh (“Epau”Antiaris Toxicaria) tree, a colossal jungle tree that used to be very common in the area.

For the adventure-seekers, you can opt to climb Gunung Brinchang (2,044m) or Gunung Irau (2,101m) and enjoy the beautiful “Mossy forest”.  Half-day or full-day tours to Cameron Highlands are also easily arranged for farm tours, shopping and visits to tea plantations.

Moonriver Lodge – first pioneer footprint into Sigar Highlands.

A unique, highlands forest farmstay experience awaits you!

what a nice time I had there – thanks thanks and more thanks – especially for allowing me to experiment and cook and use your kitchen. it seemed like I found some missing piece in my life’s jigsaw. I am complete and at peace and nice and easy happiness. I love the atmosphere in your place and I wish you all great success. I will get my family there one day and also do a yoga workshop. Simple too SIMPLE and too beautiful.

You are most welcomed, Ramesh. Your recipes are truly good. Amazing how the raw garden produce can be transformed into such lovely food in your hands and helped put BIG smiles on peoples’ faces! Simple, fresh, earthly (organic) and deliciously yummy! Do visit again. Our doors (especially the kitchen one) are wide open.

Interesting place. Perhaps next time round when I head up to CH, I could drop by for a look see. I think this place is good for retreat and church activities too.
