FOR OUR CHILDREN'S CHILDRENIn-House Activities
We are pleased to offer the following programmes at the Lodge:
A) Moonriver Lodge Orientation Trail (45 mins- 1 hr) with compliments!
A leisurely introduction trail to the lodge, farm, forest and vegetable nurseries and sensory pool where you will see various Permaculture designs in place. The trail ends at the Permaculture Children’s Garden where you can see the work-in-progress to build a natural environment and food forest for children.
B) MRL Water-Valley Trail to waterfall (1 – 1.5 hrs) @ RM9/pax
MRL’s most popular natural trail along the water trail into our in-house waterfall. Proper footgear required as your feet will get wet as you walk near the stream and through bamboo forests. Trek will take 1-1.5 hours depending on participants fitness level. Swim gear and small towel will be useful if you’re planning to take a dip.
C) Gardening For Food Programme
(Half programme 1-2 hrs) (Min pax : 4) @ RM30/pax
(Full programme 3-4 hrs) (Min pax : 25) @ RM50/pax
Work in teams and get your hands dirty with some gardening work i.e. seeding in the forest/vegetable nurseries, preparation of garden beds, transplanting and planting fruit, forest trees or vegetables. Understand where your food comes from, how it grows, how the seeds look like and do your bit on Conservation work in collecting and planting forest seedlings/young trees to reforest the surrounding area. A fun and guided activity to appreciate Mother Nature and her wonderful creations.
D) Treasure Hunt (1-2 hrs) (Min pax : 8) @ RM30/pax
A fun ice-breaking programme where teams work together on clues to uncover “treasures” around the Lodge. A briefing and clue-sheets will be given out to the participants. You’ll be amazed at how much you learn about Permaculture and the farmlodge after this activity.
E) Building a Permaculture Childrens’ Garden (PCG) (2-3 hrs) (Min pax : 10) @ RM30/pax
A new & exciting half or full day programme where you will work on various small projects in the adjacent 2-acre PCG Site. Using Permaculture Design, this garden is an interactive living & experimental site for exploration & continuous learning in an Outdoor and Forest Classroom setting.
F) Night Trek & Campsite Bonfire ( Min pax : 15) @ RM15/pax
An exciting night trek with torches or lamps (bring your own) as we tramp along around the Lodge and into the PCG, exploring the nightscapes along the way. We will gather around the campsite bonfire to relax, sing or chat away Under the Stars.
G) Art/Craftwork/Mini Projects for PCG (Min pax : 8)
A fun evening session as we work in teams on art/craftwork or project items, which can be used in the PCG eg signages, plant tagging, wind chimes, posters.
H) MRL Farm Challenge (new!) (Min pax : 25) @ RM80/pax
Our new and exciting in-house designed programme highly suitable for school groups and teambuilding. Similar to a mini-Amazing Race, you will work in teams to figure out clues and complete tasks/challenges whilst learning about farmwork, Permaculture design and more about our farmlodge. Be prepared to get your hands dirty and come with an open mind! Lots of fun awaits.
J) 1 day Rainforest Conservation Course (For groups only)
Spend a day with our certified Naturalist who will conduct this course in a mixture of classroom and outdoor experiential learning as you learn more about our Rainforest and how to conserve and better appreciate it.
