FOR OUR CHILDREN'S CHILDREN

Permablitz

What is a Permablitz @ MRL?

An informal gathering for a weekend where at least two people come together to achieve the following:

- create or add to edible gardens/facilities for the Childrens’ Garden

- share skills & experience related to Permaculture and sustainable living

- help form and build community networks in South East Asia Region.

- build & foster friendships amongst like-minded people

- have FUN !

Who can come to the Permablitzes?

ANYONE & EVERYONE! First time gardeners/beginners to Expert levels are all warmly welcomed. Just contribute where you are able to and most importantly, come with an open mind!

Permablitz is very new in Malaysia and we need your help to seed & grow it!

Our Permablitzes are open to Public where you can learn, get your hands dirty & exercise, share experience and have a good time.

What happens on Permablitzes?

Every Blitz is different and will have a focused theme. You will be welcomed, briefed on the design/objective/work to be achieved and then we get down to work. You’ll be shown what to do and may work individually or in groups.

Food will be provided by  MRL but feel free to bring something if you’d like to share or help out with the food preparation (but you don’t have to!)

By the end of the Permablitz, hopefully there should be quite a transformation (depending on how many Volunteers for that event). We hope that you could go home with a great sense of satisfaction, inspired with ideas, met wonderful people, had a taste of Permaculture design and have learnt by doing!

How to get involved?

Easy! Sign up for MRL blogs to stay in the loop on upcoming blitzes & workshops. Gather like-minded friends to come and support the Permablitz/Workshop events.

Bring some of your materials for sharing (can be a video/book/ideas/experience). Generally, it’s also good to bring your own tools and if you like, some food to share or seeds/materials to donate to the Childrens’ Garden. (but you don’t have to).

Most importantly, bring YOURSELF!

Why must we pay?

This is a challenging project as it is SELF-FUNDED and planned to be SELF-SUSTAINABLE, built BY the COMMUNITY FOR the COMMUNITY. It is also very much alligned with MRL’s vision “For Our Childrens’ Children.

A minimum charge is necessary to help us cover costs for the food and lodging for 2 nights. All excesses goes towards contributing to the Childrens’ Garden to buy tools, equipment, labour from Orang Asli (indigenious people), materials, seeds etc.

Children comes for free and we’d like to encourage you to bring them as this will be their future space for PLAY, CREATIVITY & LEARNING!

If I can’t/don’t wish to come, can I donate instead?

YES! All contributions are very welcomed and we need seed capital of all sorts. Please read under “How Can I Help”.

Hi. We moved to Sing from Europe 6 months ago. I just came back from a Perma Design Course in Malaysia. Would love to come for Permablitz with my partner and daughter (10 yo) on some weekends.
