Moonriver Lodge, Sigar Highlands

FOR OUR CHILDREN'S CHILDREN

Wild Asia@Moonriver

Wild Asia @ Moonriver is an exciting new initiative, which is a “space for exploration in sustainable living, economies and ecological restoration”. It is a real-life interactive collaboration with nature in Sigar Highlands, Lojing, Malaysia where we explore new ways of doing things – from food production, finding new ways to earn income that is beneficial to the environment or communities, to finding new ways of bringing life back into our degraded forests.

We are developing an educational theme on Rainforest Conservation & Restoration that we run at Wild Asia @ Moonriver.

You could also volunteer or intern with Wild Asia @Moonriver. All volunteers must have been on one of our courses, which we have designed to give people the basic skills required to contribute back to the land: the organic farms, the natural forests or work in the communities. The idea is to build an army of skilled volunteers who would be able to grow and hone their interests to be useful not just at Moonriver but beyond.

Wild Asia @Moonriver is also keen to engage experts and researchers who can help us develop new courses, who might be able to provide technical support to our organic farmers, forest workers or are keen to extend their research sites to Moonriver. After all Wild Asia @Moonriver is a “space for the exploration in sustainable living, economies and ecological restoration”.

Hi, I am Erwan 27 years old male from France traveling around Asia. I am naval architect / composite engineer. I can work with my hand as I have been building a few thing in my life: Model boats, electric guitar, wooden boat renovation, composite parts… I like to work in gardens and trees, weeding, planting, pruning, moving soil …. all the usual when it comes to grow vegetables or set up a garden.

I like communal leaving and outdoor work. I was leaving in a 21 people community in New Zealand for 2 years, we have a veggie garden and we are growing only a few things but the experience was great. We had a worm farm, 4 chickens giving fresh eggs

How is the moonriverlodge working and how to work as a volunteer? is accommodation/ meal included?

Thanks and all the best
