A Dialogue between Siblings

No way. The hundred is there.

The child

is made of one hundred.

The child has

a hundred languages

a hundred hands

a hundred thoughts

a hundred ways of thinking

of playing, of speaking.

A hundred always a hundred

ways of listening

of marvelling, of loving

a hundred joys

for singing and understanding

a hundred worlds

to discover

a hundred worlds

to invent

a hundred worlds

to dream.

The child has

a hundred languages

(and a hundred hundred hundred more)

but they steal ninety-nine.

The school and the culture

separate the head from the body.

They tell the child:

to think without hands

to do without head

to listen and not to speak

to understand without joy

to love and to marvel

only at Easter and at Christmas.

They tell the child:

to discover the world already there

and of the hundred

they steal ninety-nine.

They tell the child:

that work and play

reality and fantasy

science and imagination

sky and earth

reason and dream

are things

that do not belong together.

And thus they tell the child

that the hundred is not there.

The child says:

No way. The hundred is there.

Yep, this is founder of Reggio Emilio. It’s multitude of permutations. Sensorial. Imagination & Reason. and Social Behaviour. Languages. Hence my obsession with art, poetry and education!!! Integrated relationships. Meta cognition. New connections. Adaptive intelligence. Time-space as one variable. Remove the limitations. Life is abundant. Life always provides. Learn the natural laws of Life. And the rest is free & responsible expressions. Express your own unique existence given the unique elements in your life- graciously, artfully, in dynamic poetism. Start anywhere, and work at it diligently, it always flows back to the source, and then the source will flow back to you. Everything is process and product – a series of rehearsals which make up the opera – to be performed over and over and over, in various expressions, over the ages- until one climbs into the coffin prop and succumb to Death for the time for that play has also to come (haha just watched Carmen last night, that’s why so drama!)

Maria Montessori uses words like incarnations for the 0-3 period. If the environment is right, the necessary tools for the child will automatically be self-constructed, forming the personality of the child, just like the various organs of the body, when the vocal cords devt, and similarly the psychological being and behaviour patterns. There is nothing mysthical about this. It’s scientific, our DNA has everything that allows adaptation to the environment, and so the body will develop/incarnate whatever is called to task. So she worked out the optimal needs of the general child and gave certain illustrative principles, but her philosophy is just this => adults don’t NEED to teach, we support our youngs in their own self-construction of a whole being, as they see the world themselves.
