1. Happy Deepavali
First and foremost, we would like to wish all Hindus a Happy Deepavali! We hope your celebrations are joyous and full of love and light this year.
2. October Flea Market @ Kong Heng Square, Ipoh
Ever since the first time we set up a stall at the Merdeka Day Flea Market at Kong Heng Square, Ipoh, people have been asking us if we will be setting up stall every month. The pesticide-free vegetables from Food Forest Farm have sold really well at the flea market and our homemade Pumpkin Marmalade was a hit!
The Moonriver Lodge team has just finished making new batches of jam, to be sold this weekend at the October Flea Market. Our signature Pumpkin Marmalade will still be sold but our latest experiment, the Zucchini Pineapple Jam will be making its debut.
Pop by our stall to load up on good wholesome vegetables, homemade jam and speak to our team if you are planning to stay at our lodge, especially since the school holidays are coming up.
Date: 25-26 October 2014
Time: 10.00am – 4.00pm
Venue: Kong Heng Square, Ipoh
3. Home Video: Aishah and Family’s Visit to Moonriver Lodge
In our last update, we wrote that local celebrity Aishah Sinclair and her family visited us at Moonriver Lodge. Her talented brother, Adam Sinclair, has made a lovely video of their trip to Cameron Highlands that illustrates perfectly what a weekend at Moonriver Lodge feels like. We share it with you, hoping that it will inspire you to stay with us someday.
4. Climbing up the Mossy Forest/Gunung Irau
Earlier this month, we organised and accompanied a big group from Singapore on a trek through the Mossy Forest to the peak of Gunung Irau. We were so inspired by the fitness level and spirit of the group as many of them were already grandparents! It really put our younger staff to shame as they beat us to the peak and back. Thank you for being a great group to host and we hope to see you all again!
5. Treasure Hunt
Just last weekend, we organised a Treasure Hunt for a group from IRIS Corporation. Our team went to great lengths to plan and prepare a fun but challenging Treasure Hunt. The participants were so motivated and enthusiastic, all four teams finished at least one hour earlier than expected despite the rain and muddy conditions.
